The Benefit and Implementation of an Employee Yoga Program
Abstract
With support from one of its Associate University Librarians, since the fall of 2007, the UCSD Libraries have offered midday yoga sessions in the library twice weekly for library staff. For the group of regular attendees and newcomers and those who join in periodically, the yoga program has helped to reduce stress at work – a perk that has been well needed, in particular, during the last several years which have seen significant continued budget cuts to the library, new strategic initiatives, and a complete organizational restructuring in the library.
