This paper discusses the harmful and fatal use of nonhuman animals in research. It argues and demonstrates that such use is not scientifically valid if the results are applied to human beings. Alternatives to such use are discussed in the context of being more defensible ethically and scientifically. It calls for a change in attitude in order to institute available alternatives and develop others.
