Abstract
Decolonize Your Life: Xicanx Eco-Feminist Healing of Body, Mind, Spirit, Earth examines how racialized and land-connected practitioners cultivate holistic practices that challenge colonial systems of power while generating pathways toward personal and collective healing. Grounded in decolonial theory, feminist of color epistemologies, and Indigenous ecological knowledge, this dissertation theorizes healing not as an individualized wellness pursuit but as an embodied, relational, and land-based practice. Drawing on interviews, community collaborations, and autoethnographic reflection, I explore how participants engage food, movement, ceremony, storytelling, and plant-based medicine to reconnect body and spirit with land and ancestry. The project argues that these practices function as forms of resistance to settler colonial logics that fragment the self, commodify the body, and sever communities from the more-than-human world. By tracing the interconnected healing of body, mind, spirit, and Earth, this dissertation demonstrates that decolonial wellness is inseparable from environmental justice, cultural sovereignty, and community care. Ultimately, Decolonize Your Life contributes to scholarship in Xicanx studies, ecofeminism, and decolonial praxis by illuminating how everyday acts of care and connection become strategies for transforming inherited traumas and imagining liberated futures.
