Abstract

This game was made over a 2 and a half week period for a final assignment in CMPM 80k. The primary program used to make the game was GameMaker Studio 1.4 and Paint.NET for sprites.

The game entails a player who spawns in their own house and then is tasked to obtain groceries and make it back. Along the way the player runs into npc's that seem identical to the player except they tend to be darker. Upon passing by these npc's the player's sprite also turns darker, until the game forcefully restarts.

The game was created with intention to innovate on physical healthbars and make them something that affects the environment or character themselves. Popular games that sort of innovate on these mechanics alter hud elements.
