γδ T cells represent an increasingly important subset of T lymphocytes in the immune response to cancer and as a platform for novel immunotherapies. The aim of this review is to synthesize recent insights into the biology and advances in therapeutic applications of γδ T cells in cutaneous malignancies, especially melanoma, within a framework of tumor immunology and recent clinical research.
