Dynamics of helicity transport and Taylor relaxation
Published Web Location
https://doi.org/10.1063/1.1576390Abstract
Symmetry principles were used to derive a simple model of the dynamics of Taylor relaxation. The derived model predicts several classes of nondiffusive helicity transport phenomena, including traveling nonlinear waves and superdiffusive turbulent pulses. A universal expression for the scaling of the effective magnetic Reynold's number of a system undergoing Taylor relaxation was also derived.
