This comment letter responds to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s proposed rule governing the cultivation of marijuana for research in the United States. UC supports expanding the lawful supply of cannabis for research but urges faster approval of additional growers, access to a wider variety of research materials—including products legally available under state law—and clearer requirements concerning DEA possession, product testing and quality, costs, and the regulatory status of CBD.
