UC Comments on NIH's Request for Information on Proposed Changes to Reporting Outcomes from NIH Peer Review
This comment letter responds to the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) proposed changes to reporting outcomes from NIH peer review, which would replace overall impact scores and percentiles with three broad categories. UC recommends retaining scores and percentiles, with categories provided only as supplemental information, because eliminating detailed peer review results would reduce transparency, limit meaningful feedback to applicants, and undermine accountability and informed funding decisions.
