Aims and Scope

Our journal provides an opportunity for publication for Undergraduates, editorial experience, and provide a platform for engaging with material related to the Ancient Mediterranean. We hope to include what other Classics or DAGRS undergraduate students have to say or have learned about the Ancient Mediterranean. Our journal includes the perspectives of UC Berkeley students and the material they examine while attending. We believe that publishing creative works in addition to more academic research will create a more welcoming environment for those interested in the Ancient World.

Because the journal functions alongside our club, DAGRS Society, social events and communications are put out to the community to encourage interest for submissions and engagement. This club is meant to bring together students across disciplines interested in the ancient Mediterranean world, and promote writers and creators to add their voices to the journal. We will have calls for recruitment and editors each semester to have students be engaged with editing and creating submissions for the journal. Our Instagram will help gain interest, along with socials to provide a physical space and student body to celebrate the new edition of the journal once it is published.
