The construction and operation of roundhaul nets in this State have been observed and described by various staff members of the Bureau of Marine Fisheries during the past 30 years but nearly all of our published material is now out of print. This bulletin attempts to summarize the history and development of these nets in California and to describe the numerous improvements which have occurred since any of us last published on the subject.
