Snapshots: Brief Takes on Rising Talents.
Abstract
Profiles of four emerging African-American artists. Gary Eugene Jefferson has traveled all over the United States and Europe painting mural-sized figurative, abstract, and still-life compositions. Kira Lynn Harris uses simple materials in her multimedia projects to show the intangible beauty of light. Dori Lemeh uses a range of media and seeks to express in her work the role of the individual as part of a wider cultural group. Carol M. White's painting appeals to many viewers because of its rich soulful colors, narrative quality, and use of global symbols.
