Pressure investigation of the new Kondo lattice systems Ce3Sn, Ce3In and Ce3Al
Abstract
The compounds Ce3Sn, Ce3In and Ce3Al are characterized by a small energy scale that is reflected in the magnetic susceptibility and temperature dependent electrical resistance. We have investigated the effect of hydrostatic pressure on their electrical resistance and find a response that is typical of Kondo lattice behavior. In addition, both Ce3In and Ce3Al undergo a phase transition induced by pressure which, in the case of Ce3Al, is reminiscent of the γ-α transition in cerium. © 1987.
