LAL-BAZI For Soprano, Bass Clarinet and Percussion (Tombak)

Abstract

Every society is built upon the foundation of human relationships. Language stands as the most sophisticated means of communication among individuals. While the world hosts a multitude of languages, without a shared linguistic medium, two individuals would struggle to converse. Hence, a universal language becomes imperative from a global perspective. Yet, languages alone fail to encapsulate all human sentiments; music, however, adeptly fulfills this role without the need for translation.

In this musical composition, I endeavored to convey sensations that elude verbal description. To portray the enigmatic depths of the human psyche, I intentionally disrupted conventional language structures within the piece. Additionally, LAL-BAZI, a form of traditional Persian theater synonymous with pantomime, serves as an inspiration.
