Impact of climate change on U.S. air quality using multi-scale modeling with the MM5/SMOKE/CMAQ system

Creative Commons 'BY' version 4.0 license
Abstract

The use of multi-scale modeling with MM5/SMOKE/CMAQ system to measure the impact of climate change on the US air quality. MM5 is the PSU/NCAR mesoscale model and SMOKE is an emissions modeling system that processes anthropogenic and biogenic emission. The method couples the global climate model and global chemistry model with the regional air quality modeling system. It was suggested that the global models predict the general trends of global climate change while regional models refine the changes and reflect the effects on local air quality.
