Abstract

The article highlights the critique of science put forth by Wilhelm Dilthey and subsequent discussions of technology by members of the Frankfurt School and in the phenomenological tradition, may appear to have had little effect within the scientific tradition itself. It reports that positivist science works that permits a technical mastery of the world it presupposes and simultaneously constructs.
