Abstract
The winding up of a conference like this provides the opportunity to look (1) backwards at how we reached the present stage of understanding of binary star behavior and its relationship to the rest of astronomy, (2) around at the garden of unsolved problems, and (3) cautiously forward at what might come next. © 2007 International Astronomical Union.
