Exploring Bibliographic Records as Research Data
Abstract
This article describes the way in which a group of four librarians at the University of California, Irvine is exploring potential uses for bibliographic data from the library catalog for digital humanities (DH) research. The project started when the Research Librarian for Digital Humanities and History (Madelynn Dickerson), who has a background in collections and technical services, reached out informally to colleagues in the Cataloging and Metadata Services department.
