Proposal to Encode Indic Siyaq Numbers in Unicode

Abstract

This is proposal to encode the Indic Siyaq numbers in the international character encoding standard Unicode. The characters were published in Unicode version 11.0 in 2018. Siyaq was a numerical system used in India and South Asia from the 17c until the mid-20th c. It is generally found with the Arabic script, often in Urdu or Persian contexts or in multilingual texts alongside other scripts.
