Japanese and Korean share typological similarities, with many linguistic phenomena in one language having counterparts in the other. Since its inception in 1989, the Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference has served as a vital forum for presenting research aimed at broadening our understanding of these languages, especially through comparative studies. Hosted in various locations worldwide, including the United States, Japan, Korea, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, the conference brings together a diverse community of scholars from a wide range of theoretical and methodological backgrounds. The conference proceedings, titled Japanese/Korean Linguistics, feature contributions that were selected for presentation at the conference through a competitive review process, as well as papers from invited keynote speakers.
