Aims and Scope

The Proceedings of the Annual UCLA Indo-European Conference present selected papers delivered at the annual UCLA Indo-European Conference, organized since 1989 by UCLA’s Program in Indo-European Studies.

The scope of the Proceedings reflects the range of topics addressed at the conference, including historical phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and poetics; etymology and lexicon; phylogenetics and areal linguistics; and the intersections of Indo-European linguistics with archaeology, history, and linguistic theory. While the central focus remains the history and prehistory of the Indo-European languages, papers may also explore broader questions of historical linguistics and methodology relevant to Indo-European studies.
