U.S. Distributed Solar and Storage Data
Abstract
Berkeley Lab collects, cleans, and publishes project-level data on distributed* solar and distributed solar+storage systems in the United States. The data are compiled from a variety of sources, including utilities, state agencies, local permitting agencies, property assessors, and others. The latest update contains data on roughly 4.5 million individual systems installed through the end of 2024 and provides project-level data covering a wide range of system technical characteristics, installed prices, financing and installer level data, and customer segmentation details, including estimated household incomes.
