SIO Reference 60-49. The Visibility Laboratory has for a number of years carried on a program of investigation of the possible application of visible spectrum photoelectric systems to problems of search and detection. On the basis of this experience, this laboratory was requested by the Navy to carry out a short term study of the feasibility of anti-collision instrumentation utilizing photoelectric apparatus operating in the visible spectrum. This report contains the results of this brief study program.
