Through a series of case studies, this article will explore how methods and insights from varied humanities disciplines (History, Anthropology, Literature, Music, and Gender Studies) can inform both the management of public lands and the development of enduring relationships with diverse partner organizations amid new and ongoing challenges to budgets and staffing. The article will conclude with the authors' reflections on how the lessons from the case studies might be applied in the future.
