X-RAY FLUORESCENCE (XRF) ANALYSIS OF AN IRON CROSSBOW BOLT, FROM CENTRAL NEW MEXICO

Abstract

The analysis here of an early Spanish crossbow bolt from central New Mexico (see cover image) indicates a dominantly iron (Fe) composition, not unlike the composition of others in the region. Data from the composition of a similar bolt from the Sevilleta Pueblo and Mission (LA 774) in the same area is included for comparison.
