The Niles Foundation (TNF) conducted a community transportation needs assessment in Los Angeles, focused on Council District 15, to inform future TNF initiatives. The survey was completed by a highly diverse group of 1,002 local residents. The median income is $39,458 and nearly a third rely on public transit daily. The majority of respondents has strong interest in microtransit similar concerns about transit, and a desire for less air pollution. Latino and Black residents had lower awarness of EV programs and less access to charging stations. The report highlights the importance of addressing such racialized differences and offers important insights for transportation researchers and professionals seeking to understand the needs of diverse and low-income residents. It also illustrates the power of community-generated research to inform transportation decision-making.
