Visual contrast thresholds for large targets. Part I, the case of low adapting luminances

Abstract

SIO Reference 60-25. The contrast sensitivity of the human observer has been systematically investigated at a wide range of target sizes and background luminances. The present study was undertaken in an attempt to extend  to the case of targets subtending more than 360 minutes.
