Tribal co‑management in place‑based conservation needs a new approach. Even if opportunities to reset major environmental and cultural preservation laws arise, piecemeal incorporation of Tribal stewardship into a single law or agency will not be sufficient. An overarching legislative framework is needed to integrate consistent and effective Tribal co‑management into the future of our public lands.
