Authorship

To be eligible for submission, at least 50% of your manuscript's authors must be UCLA Department of Medicine faculty members. 

Publication Fees

UCLA Department of Medicine Clinical Insights does not charge submission, editorial, or publishing fees to DoM faculty. 

Creating an Account

To submit a manuscript, navigate to the white "Submit" button at the top right of this page. Upon clicking submit, you will be prompted to create an account either via email or ORCID if you have one - either is fine. Once your account has been created, you should be able to submit your manuscript. If you have trouble creating your account, please contact the editorial team.

Submission Guidelines

Please submit your manuscript in the following format. 

• Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) - PDFs will not be accepted 
• 12 pt sized font, double spaced, in either Arial or Times New Roman
• Title page containing: 
• Manuscript title 
• All authors’ names in order 
• Corresponding author’s contact information (email) 
• Abstract (if included)
• Main text starting on the following page 
• All still media (photos, tables, figures, etc) must be included in the text of your manuscript's Word document.
• Please also upload all media files separately as their original file type (e.g., .png, .jpg, .tiff, etc.)  via the "Figures and Date files" upload option during the submission process, in case of any issues within the Word document.
• Please ensure all media is uploaded at the highest resolution possible. 
  
• For videos, please upload via the "Figures and Data files" upload option during the submission process, and please indicate in the "Comments to the Editor" section of your submission (final step) where the video should be inserted in the article (i.e., at the beginning, at the end, or in a specific spot in the text.)
• If a patient is identifiable, you must submit a signed consent form along with your manuscript.
• Ensure any authors’ names and identifying information only appear on the title page. Your manuscript will be rejected otherwise.
