Authors We Welcome
The editors of The Journal of Diversity and Equity in Educational Development (JDEED) define educational development broadly to include anyone who supports the pedagogical development of higher education instructors. This may include individuals with a title that includes “educational developer,” as well as instructional designers, administrators, and DEI practitioners, among others. To that end, we invite submissions from professionals working in traditional centers for teaching and learning, as well as those working in other areas of a college or university.
We also welcome contributions by authors who are unaffiliated with higher education institutions (e.g., independent consultants).
As described in our Aims and Scope, JDEED seeks to “[implement] practices and policies to diversify academic scholarship by supporting educational developers from minoritized backgrounds at various stages in their writing career with the resources needed to advance their research projects and interests.” To that end, the editors particularly invite the writings and research interests of authors from intersectional and/or minoritized backgrounds, as well as writers from any background or institution type whose work aligns with the journal’s focus.
