Drop-in Hours and Writing Circle
The Journal of Diversity and Equity in Educational Development (JDEED) aims to implement practices and policies to diversify academic scholarship by supporting educational developers from minoritized backgrounds at various stages in their writing career with the resources needed to advance their research projects and interests. To that end, the JDEED editorial team offers a variety of resources for educational developers interested in or pursuing academic scholarship projects. Below are our recurring, upcoming writing events:
Biweekly Writing Circle
When: Every other Friday starting December, 2024 12p-1:30p ET
Duration: 90 minutes
Join peers for a biweekly writing circle on Zoom. Log on, briefly share what you'll be working on, and then write! Stay for the entire time, or leave when you need to. Attend every session or as often as your schedule allows. This low-key, shared writing time provides both community and a dedicated appointment during which you may work on your projects. Regardless of what stage your project is in—from idea to final draft—or what type of project you’re working on, you are welcome to join. See our upcoming sessions and please register here.
Monthly Drop-in Hours
When: First week of each month; times will vary. Begins in December 2024.
Zoom link, no registration is needed.
The JDEED editorial team invites you to meet with us! For one hour during the first week of each month, a member of the JDEED editorial team will hold open drop-in hours. Pop in if you are interested in learning more about the journal, interested in the academic journal publishing process, have questions about your project's alignment with the journal, or simply want to say hello. No registration is needed. See our schedule here. If you're unable to attend drop-in hours but have a question, please feel free to email us.
